Cute Outfits And New Purchases.

Cute Outfits And New Purchases.

Hello my loves, I hope you’re having a fabulous July so far! This month I finally got my last few assignments signed off for my level 4 in digital marketing which I’ve been looking forward to for what feels like the longest time. And now that my college work is all finished, I’ve got something new to look forward to – a trip away at the beginning of August! So, to prep for my little trip away next month I started having a think about all of the cute outfits I could bring along with me; which brings me to today post, some of my current favourite outfits and new purchases!

Over the last year and a half I’ve expanded my wardrobe and style so so much and that’s because I finally found the most essential item you need in your wardrobe..

CONFIDENCE!!

It sounds cheesy I know, but it’s true, having confidence and feeling great makes anything look good. Just over a year ago I was so self-conscious about how I looked and continually put my body down, and since then I’ve been on a huge self-love journey and I’m happy to say that 9 days out of 10 I have a good body love day, and on the day that I’m not feeling as great about my body as usual, I still accept my body and thank it for what it does for me.

So, now that you know that confidence is the best item in your wardrobe, here’s some cute outfits that I love to wear that I wouldn’t dream of wearing before! A lot of my favourite crop tops are from Shein because your girl is on a budget, but I’ve also got some really cute trousers and other pieces from sustainable brands like Lucy and Yak.

(Just an FYI – I’m not sponsored by any of the brands mentioned in this post but I’ve included the links to each item so you can find them easily if you wanted to get yourself any of the pieces below!)

First up we’ve got some super cute crop tops from Shein. The first four pictured are a similar shape which I found comfy and surprisingly supportive for bigger chested people (I’m an E cup for reference in case you’re wanting to pick any of these tops up) and then the two gingham tops are backless – strappy back tops which are very supportive because you can adjust the straps as you wish.

Next up we’ve got some more crop tops from Shein and two from Pretty Little Thing, the first four are Shein and the last two are Pretty Little Thing. The Shein ones are just super comfy and crop tops paired with comfy high waisted jeans and trousers are now an everyday go-to for me, and the other two are super cute for dressing up or down. I especially love the blue and white corset top because it looks so nice tucked into my jeans and gives you a really nice shape whilst still being super comfy to wear so it’s great for going out to drinks and dinner because it’s still comfy after you’ve eaten!

You know when you love a print so much that you want everything in it? Yeah, that’s how I felt when I saw this green spongebob-esk print so naturally I got it in 3 different tops! Each one is so cute and makes me feel fab everytime I wear them. (These are also Shein!).

Onto dresses! If you know me well, you know I’m not really a dress kind of gal, mainly because I always feel like I’m going to flash everyone and I struggle to find ones that I like on me due to being petite (length is usually an issue), but after buying these on a whim to continue getting out of my comfort zone I found that the different shapes and lengths these dresses are look great on! The first two are Shein and the last one is Pretty Little Thing. My personal favourite out of these three is the second one because it’s extremely supportive for big chests and is fitted in all the right places, oh and it’s lined!!

Next up we’ve got my collection of gorgeous trousers and dungarees from Lucy and Yak! They are one of my all time favourite clothing brands because not only do all their clothes fit and feel super comfortable, they’re also a smaller business who are all about sustainable clothing! And do I even need to mention how beautiful their prints are?!? And also if you were wondering, the blue mom jeans featured in my other outfits are also from Lucy and Yak and they are the comfiest best fitting jeans I’ve every bought – they’re actually high waisted rather than high rise so they sit at just the right place. The clothes are a bit pricier than other brands but 1000% worth it in my mind!

Finally we’ve got some cycle shorts and tee’s combos! I always though I couldn’t pull off the cute bike shorts and tee combos, but after debating it I bought some and now I’ve managed to gather a collection of around 8 pairs of cute patterned/coloured shorts with tee’s that look really cute with them (they’re currently in the wash but I’ve got a blue gingham pair, lilac gingham pair, black and white checked pair, pink pair, two black pairs and the two shown below). My personal favourite of these is the green gingham outfit because it’s just so cute! All of my cycle short outfits make me feel so badass and as a bonus they’re incredibly comfy!! Plus these are perfect for these really hot days where you just want to be comfy. And plus plus, you don’t get chub rub with cycle shorts!! (The Bambi tee is H&M, the green gingham shorts and cherry shorts are Asos and the Coca Cola tee is Primark!).

And that’s all of my cute outfits that I’ve got to show you for today! Maybe in a future post I’ll give you a rundown of all the cute outfits I decide to take with me on my upcoming trip away so you can see how I plan on packing for a week away in the UK during Summer (I’m pretty much 100% sure I’ll be over-packing so it’ll be interesting to see if I can keep my packing light!).

What’s your favourite piece or outfit from today’s post? Let me know in the comments below!

And remember, it doesn’t really matter what you’re wearing as long as you feel good. Your opinion about yourself is what matters, so go out, treat the world as your runway and wear what makes you feel good.

Have a fab day my lovelies!

My 5 Favourite Christmas Posts.

My 5 Favourite Christmas Posts.

Hello my lovelies and Happy Christmas! It’s been an absolute madhouse for me over the last month, and to be completely honest I’ve not had a chance to write up any new posts for the festive period; one of those reasons is because my older sister is about to have her third baby!

So, today, instead of a new Christmas post today, I’m going to go through my favourite posts I’ve written for the festive season over the past few years! And with that, let’s get into it!

1 . Top 20 Christmas Movies!

Christmas Movies Banner

Let’s face it, with everything that’s been going on in 2020, none of us has been going out, and now is the perfect time to snuggle down and have a movie marathon with all our favourite Christmas movies.

2 . My Christmas Decorations.

My House At Christmas Banner

Who doesn’t love looking at other people’s Christmas decorations?! Each year we decorate my house like mad, and it essentially ends up looking like a Santa’s grotto haha, this year we’ve added loads of lights outside!

3 . Easy Naughty Christmas Elf Ideas.

Elf on the Shelf banner

I haven’t seen many naughty Christmas elves this year but this post still makes me smile, especially the one above with the nutella and peanut butter! It’s the little things at this time of year that add up to making this time period great.

4 . Easy DIY Pine Cone Santas.

Ok, so I only put this post up a few weeks ago, but I love these simple easy diy Santa gnomes! I’ve now decorated one of our Christmas trees with them and they are a great way to make your tree a little different this year instead of just the usual baubles.

5 . Easy Christmas Nails.

I can’t believe I wrote this post about 2 years ago! It really is crazy how time flies. And even though this post is from 2018, I still really love the nail art I did here!

So, those are my favourite Christmas posts from the past few years! I absolutely love this time of year, the decorations, lights, food, giving gifts and the time we get to spend with family! This year will obviously be a little different in terms of being able to spend lots of time with all our families, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun and be grateful for what we have got!

I hope you have a great Christmas everyone! And a very happy new year!

Things To Do For Halloween 2020.

Things To Do For Halloween 2020.

Hello my lovelies! I hope you’re having a good October so far and are enjoying these autumn days. I love this time of year, getting to cosy up in blankets and baggy jumpers; not to mention the fact that it’s now spooky season and in the run up to Christmas! But before we get started on the Christmas festivities, it’s time for the Halloween ones!

Since we’re all still socially distancing and can’t really go trick or treating this year, I’ve come up with a few things you can do at home this Halloween!

Halloween Bento Box

Let’s get into it.

  • Halloween Costumes Games – Make some cards with halloween costume ideas (or use an app) and taking turns, each person has 60 seconds to find and create the costume they’ve picked out. It makes for some hilarious versions of costumes!
  • Make cute halloween themed bento lunch-boxes. Cute and delicious!

  • Hide sweets around the house and have a trick or treat treasure hunt! Who said you need to go outside to get treats?

  • Have a halloween movie night! I’ve got a movie marathon list here!

  • Carve pumpkins! A Halloween classic that you can do in your pyjamas!

  • Make your own popcorn and experiment with flavours and toppings! I once tried butter popcorn with caramel, white and milk chocolate drizzles on top and it was so good!

  • Have a spooky themed dinner! Or order takeaway, either works haha!
Tarot Cards

  • Hold a virtual Halloween party!

  • Go pumpkin or apple picking!

  • Try out some halloween crafts from pinterest!

  • Do a tarot reading – Something you may not know about me, is that I’m a baby white witch, so I’ll be taking some time to celebrate the full moon, Samhain and I’ll also be doing some tarot readings among other witchy stuff!

  • Have a spooky tea party with halloween themed food and drinks!

  • Bake some halloween biscuits!

Here’s the Halloween biscuit recipe I used, it’s a very simple one I grabbed from BBC Food and adapted a little:

Ingredients:

Halloween Biscuits
`
  • 100g unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 1 medium free-range egg (lightly whisked/beated)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • 275g plain flour
  • Icing sugar
  • Water
  • Food colouring

Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C(170C Fan). Put greaseproof paper in a tray.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar. Then, beat in the egg and vanilla extract, a little at a time, until well combined; then stir in the flour and cinnamon and bring together to form a dough (if your dough won’t form, add a tiny bit of water or milk).
  3. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured work surface to a thickness of just under 1cm. Using biscuit cutters (I used halloween themed ones), cut biscuits out of the dough and carefully place onto the baking tray.
  4. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until pale golden-brown. Set aside to harden for 2 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.
  5. Once cool, make up bowls of icing with icing sugar (I just eyeballed it) and gradually add water until the icing is thick but can still be spreaded.
  6. Add in your different colours to the bowls, and then put the icing into piping bags.
  7. Pipe on your designs and leave them to set.
  8. Eat!

These biscuits take about 40 minutes from start to finish, and they’re super simple. If you’re making them with kids you can get them to design their own monsters!

If you make some of your own halloween biscuits tag me in them on instagram @theweightofmyworlds!

Well, those are my ideas for how you can spend Halloween this year! How are you planning on spending your Halloween? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great week my loves and Happy Halloween!

My Project 333 Wardrobe.

My Project 333 Wardrobe.

Happy Saturday my lovelies! So, this week I’ve been taking a look at my clothes and my shopping habits. I’ve noticed that during lockdown I haven’t bought nearly as many clothes as I did before lockdown and the clothes I did buy were of a much higher quality from brands who have ideals I stand by. I’ve also found that I have a pattern with how I shop; and that pattern is, the second payday hits, I like to go and treat myself to something new to wear. The problem is, I don’t need any more clothes.

And I literally just bought a £65 jumpsuit from Asos that I simply just had to have because it was a bold black and white floral pattern. When it arrived yesterday I realised what I was doing and lucky for me it was way too long on my little legs so it’s being sent back for a refund – bad shopping habit 0 – Victoria 1.

So, as much as I love fashion and shopping, I need to change my shopping habits, not only for the sake of my bank balance, or my lack of space to put more clothes, but also for the environment. Granted the majority of clothes I decide I no longer want are donated to charity rather than just thrown away, but the amount of clothes that were worn once and then donated is much too high for my liking.

And this is where project 333 comes in. Project 333 is a bit like a wardrobe challenge, with the idea being that you only have 33 items in your wardrobe, including your clothes, shoes, accessories and bags; and you are only allowed to wear your selected 33 items for 3 months. The project was created by Courtney Carver who is a minimalist expert and author, with the aim of taking the stress out of deciding what to wear in the morning.

I personally don’t find getting dressed in the morning too stressful, because choosing my look for the day brings me joy, but there are still way too many items in my wardrobe which don’t get worn as often as they should. ( Or they simply shouldn’t have been bought in the first place).

Now, because I’m still a big lover of fashion and I love accessorising every single outfit I put on depending on my mood for the day, I know there’s no way I am going to be able to have 33 pieces in total including my accessories and bags, so for me, I’m going to do this project with just my clothes and shoes. Baby steps..

To give you an idea of what my wardrobe looked like before I decided on my 33 items, here’s what everything looked like when I decided to try this out and what my wardrobe looked like during the clearing out process:

For the record, none of the clothes are being thrown away, I’ve vacuum sealed them away in my loft because after 3 months I’ll swap some items out. And although my clothes rack before looked fine, I know that it was struggling to keep the weight of all those clothes up.

So, now that I’ve cleaned out my wardrobe, what 33 items are in my wardrobe for the next 3 months?

Well, my selection consists of 12 tops, 2 jumpers, 1 skort, 1 pair of shorts, 1 denim skirt, 3 pairs of mom jeans, 1 pair of checked trousers,1 pair of pink cargo joggers, 2 dresses, 2 pairs of dungarees, a leather jacket, a pair of black boots, white birkenstocks, black flats and white converse.

Here’s the tops I’ve chosen:

Here’s the bottoms I’ve picked (I’ve got two pairs of blue mom jeans so I only took a photo of one pair):

Then we have my 2 dresses, 2 pairs of dungarees and jacket:

In deciding on what to have in my 333 wardrobe I went with pieces that could make several outfits to make sure that I don’t get bored with my choices. So, here’s a few simple outfits I can make with the very basics of the wardrobe:

You’ll probably recognise a few of these outfits from my post from a few weeks ago, as they also gave me a lot of inspiration for these looks. I tried to make sure I picked pieces that made me feel good but were also comfortable and practical so the entire wardrobe could be pretty versatile for all occasions. And as for my shoes, I figured going simple would be the best option for me, one pair perfect for hot days, one casual pair for going out and about (not that we’re going anywhere haha, one pair for when it’s chilly and one pair that is a little more smart casual.

I think something I’m looking forward to with this challenge is being forced to look at my wardrobe and the clothes I own in a new way, and finding new and exciting ways to wear pieces that would have gotten lost in the mountain of clothes I had in my wardrobe before. Along with that, I can’t help but think of all the moments I’m going to have to catch myself before I buy anything new, so that will be an interesting challenge with a good outcome if I can stick to the project. My bank balance will certainly thank me!

At the end of each month I’ll give you an update on how things are progressing and going, and I think I’ll try and keep a weekly diary of outfits and how my now much smaller wardrobe is making me feel. Just looking at it now, it looks so incredibly empty compared to how it was before. After all, going from what must’ve been over 100 pieces to just 26 items of clothing and 4 pairs of shoes seems kind of insane, but it’s also quite freeing and calming. That corner of my rooms certainly seems a bit brighter which is nice.

Plus, if this works I can forget about over-packing for holidays! I’ll just take my entire wardrobe haha.

Hopefully this project will bring with it an even greater appreciation for the select items I’ve got and which ones I truly love to wear.

And with all that said and done, what do you think of my new wardrobe? Have you tried this challenge before? How did it go? Let me know in the comments! Wish me luck and have a great weekend my lovelies!

What I’ve Been Up To During Lockdown.

What I’ve Been Up To During Lockdown.

Happy Saturday and happy Easter my lovelies! Can you believe that we’re actually in April right now? Where is this year going?! But I won’t lie, if the next few months could be skipped, I wouldn’t be complaining! For a lot of you it’s probably going into week three of lockdown, but for me I’m well into week four, it could even be week five. I don’t even know anymore.

Because we’re all stuck inside, everyone has been coming up with new ways of doing things and passing the time. As for me, I’ve been busy doing all sorts.

I’m incredibly lucky that I am able to work from home, so monday to thursday every week I spend 8am to 4pm working at my desk for a non-profit called the SUN Network; where I do all things social media, marketing and website related. At the SUN Network we talk to people who have accessed, are accessing or are trying to access mental health and/or drug and alcohol services within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and listen to their stories and what they would like to see improved to make the services better.

Then, after my work at the SUN Network I take a few hours each night and fridays to work on my freelance business Sociaglow. At Sociaglow I help small businesses and non-profit organisations get their website up and running and social media channels set-up and ready to go.

So the good thing for me is that I have been able to continue working and keep to some form of a routine throughout all of this madness.

And then comes my time when I’ve finished work. So, lucky for me, I have a million hobbies that I usually wouldn’t have much time for due to other commitments. Some of those hobbies include:

  • Painting and Drawing
  • Sculpting
  • Sewing
  • Playing Video Games
  • Designing
  • Creating and Completing Puzzles
  • Doing Photoshoots
  • Reading and Listening to Audiobooks
  • Watching Movies
  • Organising
  • Yoga

Week one: This week I decided to start painting as I had bought a huge canvas a few weeks prior (when we could still go outside and shop) which I had been hung on my wall completely blank because I was struggling to come up with an idea for what I should paint. Plus, I wasn’t sure how well my painting would look if I were to just go freehand when I wasn’t completely in the right mood for painting. After some time thinking it over, and in a creative spell, I decided to just slap some paint on the canvas and see what ideas that would spark. Lucky for me, inspiration hit and I was able to paint a pretty cool piece over the next few weekends! And lucky for you, I filmed my process!

Week number two: This week I struggled with having to stay home, for many reasons really, but mostly because I had made quite a few plans to meet up with friends who would’ve been at a high risk and we believe people in my house had the virus; so there was no chance of me leaving the house. With all my new found spare time I finished the painting above, shaved my head (I’d always wanted to, see my previous posts) and decided to make myself some dungarees out of an old duvet set! If you like these I’ll do my best to make a diy tutorial on how you can make them yourself! From start to finish these dungarees took about 4 hours to make, from the cutting to actually putting them on. Not bad for an old duvet cover!

Handmade dungarees

Next up comes week three: This weekend I watched Knives Out and played an escape room game we ordered online. I also managed to create a website for my sister and her husbands clothing brand, took some super cute photos in my favourite outfits and I finished an entire book on the Sunday. The book I read was called ‘Make or Break’ by Catherine Bennetto, and it’s the story of a woman who gets surprised with a holiday to Cape Town by her boyfriend of 6+ years but ends up coming back single, with lots of twists and turns in between. It was a very cathartic read for me, because I too recently came out of a long term relationship, (a story for another day maybe?) and I usually struggle to find books I can’t put down but this one was great and I loved every page. 10/10 would recommend!

That brings us to this weekend: Being inspired by the escape room game we ordered and the Knives Out film, I decided to create my own escape room game for my family. And so, after lots of looking online and thinking about how I could really make this an exciting game, I had a game plan. I wrote several letters, had boxes with hidden compartments, invisible inks and inks that would disappear with heat. It took my family about 45-50 minutes to complete it and I am happy to report that they absolutely loved it. In fact they loved it so much that we’ve decided it will become a tradition of ours for different occasions throughout the year, one for Easter, Halloween and Christmas! I can write up how I pulled all of this together so you can create your own if you’d like, let me know in the comments!

Escape Room

And that brings us to right now! I’m having great fun this weekend chilling out, having a bbq, watching disney + and playing animal crossing! Oh and I can’t forget, I’m also stuffing my face with chocolate right now. I love playing animal crossing right now because it’s such a nice way to escape from this house for a few hours! If I can work out how to let you all visit my island, I’ll post it up here or on my Insta and Twitter so you can come and visit me! Once I’m finished with animal crossing for the day, I’ll be finishing up another pair of dungarees that are 70% finished, because let’s be real, dungarees are one of the comfiest forms of clothes ever!

Every other day I’m also taking time to practice yoga and workout with the be.come project, as well as making sure I take a little bit of extra me-time through trying out skincare products that could help with my acne. Other than hobbies and work, I haven’t spent a huge amount of time just doing nothing, partly because when I’m doing nothing, that’s when all of those negative thoughts and reminders about what is going on in the world start to creep back in. So, something that I’m going to be spending some time doing each day is nothing. And you know what, that’s okay, and having some of those negative thoughts in a time like this is okay too.

How are you spending your time during lockdown? And how are you spending this Easter weekend? Let me know in the comments; as always you know I love to have a chat with you!

Have a great weekend everyone and stay safe!

Lots of love,

Day to Night Looks.

Day to Night Looks.

Happy Saturday my lovelies! How’re you doing today? It’s been a busy week for me here, I’ve been working away like mad on all sorts of projects; from working for the SUN Network, doing freelance work, painting and going out to meet up with friends!

And that brings me onto today’s post. Day to night looks! Since I’ve been so busy, I’ve been trying to maximise what I can do with some of my outfits to make them transformable from day to night time with just a few tweaks.

So, let’s get into it!

Day to Night Graphic Tee Look

1 . The graphic tee.

I just love a graphic tee and jeans combo, I think these are great for casual days out and about with trainers and a handbag with minimal jewellery; and then all you have to do in the evening is swap your trainers for some heels (or swap up your shoes to whatever you want, you do you) and put a clutch and a cool pair of earrings on with a blazer or leather jacket and you’re good to go!

Day to Night LBD Look

2 . The classic, little black dress.

Nearly all of us have a little black dress right? Well I love pairing a LBD with a white long sleeve tee or jumper, tights and boots for an edgy grunge day look; and then for the evening I would get rid of the top underneath, put on some heels and a suede jacket with a clutch and you’re ready for date night!

Day to Night Mom Jeans Look

3 . Bold and fun mom jeans looks.

You know I love a bright and fun look, and that’s exactly what we’ve got here, plus, they feature my favourite colour – yellow! To be honest I think both of these outfits look great day and night, but maybe that’s just because I love these outfits so so much. I love a mom jean look, so pairing some mom jeans with a cute black top, patterned trainers and a bold bag is perfect. Then all I did was switch the bag to this awesome banana cartoon bag I saw online, added some cute cherry earrings and some bright yellow heels and we’ve got a great night look with tonnes of personality!

Day to Night Denim Skirt Look

4 . Denim skirts and bodysuits.

These are similar to the looks before because I think both of these work great for day and night, but if you’re going for a day look, I’d recommend the look on the left because it’s got more comfortable and warm shoes! These looks will also worth for most skirts that are in your wardrobe, that or even pair these with jeans! I love tops tucked into skirts or jeans, so a bodysuit is the way to go so you haven’t got to keep tucking it in!

Day to Night LRD Look

5 . Finally we have the little red dress.

Recently I’ve been loving the effortless summery dress with trainers look for days out, and they’re great with tights when the weather is a bit colder. For the night look I like how a quick switch of shoes can bring this look from casual day to date night in seconds.

And those are my day to night looks!

I love day to night looks because they make me feel confident, ready for anything they day has to offer, and they’re great for when you’re going on a trip somewhere and haven’t got a huge amount of clothing space! Do I sense a capsule wardrobe vibe?

Trying to decide on which outfit(s) is my favourite was hard because they’re all so cute but if I had to decide I think it’d have to be the mom jeans look, purely for the fact that I love quirky accessories and who doesn’t love being comfy day and night in jeans!

What’s your go-to day to night outfit? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great weekend my lovelies!

Styling Mom Jeans.

Styling Mom Jeans.

Hello and Happy New Year my lovelies!! Can you believe we’re in another decade again?! Where has the time gone! Speaking of decades, it always amazes me how fashion from previous decades manages to come round again and again. One particular piece of fashion I love is mom jeans.

In my opinion they look great on all shapes and sizes and can be pretty versatile too. Which is why today I decided to show you how I like to style mom jeans!

So, onto the outfits!

Mom Jeans Outfit

1 . Date night! You can’t go wrong pairing any jeans with a pair of heels and a blazer, it’s the perfect way to dress up any outfit from day to night. And in my opinion it’s always a classy sophisticated look!

I love how this outfit can be dressed down by pairing everything with tanned loafers or flats of any colours and a bag!

Mom Jeans Outfit

2 . Smart Casual. I love this outfit for everyday wear, you can’t see them too well in my snaps by I’ve paired this floral top with pink slip ons to go with my bag. It feels very much like a Spring outfit to me, but to be honest, I wear this all year round with layers in the cold seasons!

Mom Jeans Outfit

Plus, who doesn’t love a good floral number and cute comfy shoes?!

Mom Jeans Outfit

3 . Comfy Cosy Casual. This outfit is perfect for a cinema date or just going out for the day. A cosy jumper and jeans combo is a staple you just have to have in you wardrobe for the cooler days and months. I personally like to accessorise this simple outfit with bold accessories to bring a bit of me to it!

Mom Jeans Outfit

I wish I had those Coca-Cola earrings and popcorn bag, but I have to admit, I do love my bubblegum machine earrings just as much!

Mom Jeans Outfit

4 . Classic and Simple. We’ve all got a simple white or black tee in our wardrobes somewhere, and even if we haven’t, you can get them super cheap in most clothes shops! I like pairing this with a simple cross-body bag and trainers or you can tie a tartan or checkered shirt around your waist to tie the look together!

Bonus points if you’ve got a huge oversized tartan shirt, those things can act as blankets when you got cold!

Unfortunately I couldn’t find my red cami top to show you my look but I have got the outfit below for you to check out! This look is so chic and always looks effortless and sexy. Top 20 Christmas Movies!

Top 20 Christmas Movies!

Hello my lovelies!! We’re finally in December and the Christmas countdown has begun! As someone who loves Christmas, I will be watching loads of Christmas movies all throughout this month, and I won’t lie, I definitely watched loads last month too.

But with that said, what are the top Christmas movies to get you in the spirit? That’s where today’s post comes in, I thought why not do a Christmas countdown with movies! Basically, a movie advent calendar to lead you up to Christmas and boxing day. So get your cosy pyjamas on and some snacks ready!

So, with that said, let’s get into it!

1 . Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s the perfect transition film into the festive season if you’re having to persuade your very own Grinch or Scrooge to watch a Christmas film.

2 . Die Hard. A Debatable Christmas Classic, but this is another one to ease you into the Christmas spirit! Do you class Die Hard as a Christmas film?

3 . Chicken Run. Ok, so it’s technically not a Christmas film but I only seem to watch this one around this time of year, just like how I watch Wallace and Gromit at this time of year too.

4 . The Polar Express. The polar express is my mum’s personal favourite for Christmas cheer so of course I had to include this one! Old steam trains and snow, what more could you ask for!

5 . Miracle on 34th Street. An old classic, which you can’t go wrong with if you’re after a slightly older more traditional Christmas film!

6 . Nativity. Ok.. so I couldn’t find a Nativity gif so here you can have this one of Martin Freeman which makes me laugh way too much. My family love Nativity and it’s a great one for kids!

7 . The Holiday. If you love a rom-com here you go! Cosy cottages and wine rambles!

8 . Love Actually. Everyone loves ‘Love Actually’, but I’ve never been that fussed about it personally, but I can deny that it does feel Christmassy in spirit so I understand why people love it so much.

9 . Jingle All The Way. Arnold Schwarzenegger running around trying to get his son a toy. Need I say more?

10 . The Grinch. This one is great for the kids, and adults to be honest. It’s bright, colourful and hilarious! Also, if you haven’t seen this one because you think it’s the same as the classic, then you’re wrong because it’s a semi-different storyline!

11 . The Christmas Chronicles. I literally just re-watched this one. It’s a Netflix own film that is funny and has a great musical number in jail!

12 . Deck the Halls. You ever feel the need to compete with your neighbours Christmas light show? What about going nuts because you want to see your house from space?

13 . Wallace and Gromit. Just like ‘Chicken Run’ my family always seem to see this around Christmas time, it doesn’t really matter which one is showing, because they’re all pretty great!

14 . Muppets Christmas Carol. Two words: A CLASSIC.

15 . Arthur Christmas. This is such a heartwarming, cute and funny Christmas film that kids will love!

16 . The Snowman. This is a film that everyone has grown up with and knows the soundtrack to, and it’s one of the first Christmas movies I’ve ever seen, so I had to include it!

17 . Home Alone. Classic Christmas! Who else has imagined what they’d do to boobytrap their own home?

18 . Elf. Will Ferrell dressed as an elf running around New York with people not realising it’s for a film? Yes please!

19 . How The Grinch Whole Stole Christmas. My favourite! We can all relate to the Grinch and Cindy Lou, and I just love this one. It’s hilarious!

20 . Gremlins. Don’t feed them after midnight! If you’ve never seen Gremlins, believe me when I say you’re in for a treat! I just watched this in a 4DX cinema with snow, moving chairs and loads of other special effects and it was brilliant!

And those are my favourite Christmas films to watch over the festive season! My personal favourite is ‘The Grinch Who Stole Christmas’ because who doesn’t love Jim Carrey as the Grinch, I mean talk about ICONIC.

What’s your favourite Christmas movie? Is it on my list? Let me know in the comments! And last but not least, stay tuned to see what my house looks like at Christmas!

I hope you’re all having a happy and safe Christmas so far!

And of course for Christmas day you can have your elf with your presents! I love Christmas for so many reasons, food, family, feeling the festive spirits, the aesthetics and of course the memories.

Some people aren’t a fan of parts of Christmas like doing the elf of the shelf, but one reason why I love it is because it creates great memories for kids! They get to wake up each day seeing their elf doing something funny in the lead up to Christmas day and all of the people helping the elves get into position get to have a giggle doing it too!

If you’re after more elf ideas, you can check out more naughty Christmas elf ideas from last year here too! What’s you favourite elf idea? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great weekend my lovelies!
