My July Favourites.

My July Favourites.

Can You Believe QE

Hello lovelies! Can you even believe we’re in August already?! This year is going so so fast, and I’m not going to lie.. I’m already getting excited about the festive season. Autumn and Winter are by far my favourite seasons, everything is so cosy and the food is so good! Anyway, onto today’s post, my July favourites.

This week I’ll be telling you about my favourite makeup/beauty products, fashion pieces and other little things I’ve picked up over the last few weeks.

So, without further adieu..

Noughty Thirst Aid Conditioning and Detangling Spray

Noughty Leave in conditioner

I absolutely love this spay, it’s been a godsend for my hair, and makes it feel amazing. As someone who religiously straightened her hair for years this is a must, it also helps that I haven’t touched the hot tools for just over 4 months, but since my hair grows so slowly the damage is still on the ends, this is an essential in my hair routine now!

Yoga Mat

Yoga mat

This one has become a very new favourite of mine, I’m a bit of a yogi, but I stopped practising for a while due to back issues (post to follow in a few weeks) but I’ve just started up again. I found it’s good for my mental health (don’t worry, I won’t start preaching saying yoga solves everything – because it doesn’t) and I treat it as self-care along with helping with my back pain.

Cacti Packing Organisers

Cacti Bags

I’ve done a fair bit of travelling/staying away from home the last few days, so these have been amazing since I have a habit of being an over-packer. These have helped me stay organised and only pack what I need to, plus they are so cute and cheap (gotta love amazon!)!

Bare Minerals Powder Foundation, Highlighter and Brush

Bare Minerals makeup

In Edinburgh I spent some time shopping in Princes Street and went and got my makeup done at a Bare Minerals counter. It was my first time having my makeup done by someone else and I loved it. I finally found a foundation that I could wear without it looking cakey, too dark/the wrong tone and it covers my acne scars and rosacea! And the highlighter is a pretty with pinky lilac tones you can see in the light.

Overcooked – Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch overcooked

Overcooked is a cute yet manic cooking game made for the Nintendo switch where you have to run around the kitchen in all sorts of areas completing orders before time runs out. I love playing this when I just want to disappear from reality for a little while. And it can be played by yourself or with as many as 4 people!

Oversized T-Shirt Dress

Tshirt dress

I picked this up the other day and it’s already a favourite of mine. With it being so hot at the moment this is perfect for staying cool, and it’s great for travelling. I’ve paired this with bike shorts and vans for a casual look and as a bonus – it feels like wearing pyjamas! And who doesn’t want to walk around basically in pyjamas all day?

Dungarees and Balloon Sleeve Top

dungarees balloon sleeve top

You might remember the dungarees from my last post, where I embroidered them with a small sunflowers to brighten them up a bit. And I absolutely love my balloon sleeve top paired with them that I embroidered myself too! I just love that sense of pride when you’re wearing something you had a hand in making.

So those are my July favourites! What have your favourite things been for July? Let me know in the comments. If you like these posts then maybe I’ll make this a monthly or bi-monthly thing! Well, that’s it for me today, have a great weekend!!

Favourite Outfits For May.

Favourite Outfits For May.

Hello my lovelies! Who’s looking forward to the bank holiday weekend?! I know I am! Finger’s crossed the weather holds up and it stays sunny all weekend. With May swiftly coming to an end, and the weather changing once again, I thought now would be a good time to show you some of my favourite outfits and pieces from this month.

And who knows, if you like it, maybe this’ll become a monthly thing!

So, let’s jump right into it!

1 . Baggy/loose oversized dungarees or overalls. I picked up this pair from Tesco’s F & F range and I’m so happy with them! What I will say is, if you want them oversized, and super comfy, go at least on or two sizes up! I love pairing these with a simple white tee and I love how chic they look.

2 . Ripped mom jeans and biker jacket combo. This outfit is perfect for a date night, or just out and about running errands, I’m not going to tell you where you can wear this; you do you! Also, I picked this cute crop top up from Tk Maxx for £2.99! Bargain! Plus if you’re after a cheap biker jacket, I got this one from Primark for the small sum of £14.

3 . Cutesy Paris crop top. When I first saw this top in Tk Maxx I was convinced it could only be a pyjama top; but once I’d actually tried it on, I absolutely loved it and had to buy it. I love baby pink as a colour, and the pastel macarons on it are super cute.

4 . Striped pastel yellow honey tee. This top is quite possibly one of the softest tops I own, it’s also super stretchy and its oversized so it’s so comfy. This top is so cute paired with my lighter mom jeans and bright bag. It’s cute, comfy and casual.

5 . My cacti shirt. Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore cacti. Whether it’s home décor or fashion, I’ll buy it if it’s got one on it! This shirt is one of my favourites for this month because it’s thin so you can wear it on a hot day or layer up and it’s great for when it gets chilly.

6 . Rust coloured tee and denim skirt. The colour of this t-shirt is so pretty and it’s been looking great with any form of denim. I like how this outfit can be dressed up or down so I like it for when I’m off out during the day and haven’t got time to change for going out in the evening.

What’s been your favourite things to wear this month? My mood dictates what I’m wearing every day, which means one day I’ll be styling a flowy feminine dress, and the next I’ll be wearing something androgynous or more masculine. Something I can’t wait to delve deeper into is fashion in Tokyo, because everyone there looks so cool!

And that’s it from me today! What was your favourite outfit? I’m torn between my oversized overalls and ripped mom jeans looks. Have a great weekend lovelies!!

Outfits For All Seasons

Outfits For All Seasons

Good morning my lovelies! How’s March been treating you so far? The weather here is doing all sorts at the moment so no one knows what to wear! Which led me to todays post, my style must-haves. We all have our favourite pieces in our wardrobes that stay in our rotations all year round, so I thought I’d show you some outfits that work with some of my staples, for all seasons!

Let’s get into it!

Comfy Mom Jeans

1 . Black Jumper and Mom Jeans combo. This is my favourite outfit of the bunch. I got myself some mom jeans in the past few months and they’ve been a staple for me ever since, especially paired with a baggy jumper. It’s a chic and comfy outfit that is great for the office if you’re allowed to wear ripped jeans!
Tailored Shorts Outfit

2 . Tailored Shorts with a Simple Tee. It’s great for all seasons when paired with tights and a jacket for Winter or by itself for Summer! These can also be dressed up or down, al you have to do is add some heels or cute flats and you’re ready to go out in the evening.

Little Black Dress
3 . We all know this one, the staple Little Black Dress. This is another one which can be dressed up or down, and can be put with any accessories and look great. Put this dress with simple accessories and a glowy dewy makeup look and you’re good to go for a night out! Or do the opposite and add bright makeup and you’re also ready to hit the town!

Mom Jeans outfit

4 . The Graphic Tee with a Blazer. You can’t really go wrong with this one to be honest, whether it’s jeans, trousers, a skirt or shorts, this always looks great for any occasion and can be great in every season. I love this look as it’s fun and comfy whilst still being chic and elegant!

Little Red Dress

5 . The Little Red Dress. It’s a great version of the LBD but with that extra umph. Dress this with boots and tights in Winter or by itself with sandals and you’re good for Spring! I love how classy and just generally very pretty this one is!!

Spring Skirt Outfit

6 . The Denim Skirt. I think everyone has owned a denim skirt at some point in their life, and I think they’re a staple for any season, like some of the other outfits, the right pair of tights and jacket can transform this from a Spring/Summer look to Autumn/Winter look in a matter of seconds. I personally love this look, especially with a bright belt and bag!

So those are just a few outfits that you can make out of some style staples you may have in your wardrobe; don’t you just love how one classic item can be transformed with a few accessories?!

What do you like to wear with some of your favourite items?? Let me know in the comments! I always love hearing how you like to style pieces, and I love trying them out for myself! Comfy clothes are the best in my opinion, so anytime I can wear them and look chic is a bonus.

Have a great weekend lovelies!

Wedding Guest Outfits 2018

Wedding Guest Outfits 2018

I love weddings, partly because I’m a romantic and I love love. However, I don’t know about you, but when that invitation arrives in the post (after the initial yay someone’s getting married and has found the love of their life) one of the thoughts that come in my head is “What am I going to wear?!”. Do you get this too? I hope I’m not the only one.

As someone who pretty much lives in jeans and t-shirts, the lead up to the wedding usually involves about 1 million hours spent on Pinterest looking for outfit inspiration and another million spent looking online for that special something to wear. That’s why I’ve decided to list a few different looks for you below along with links to where you can buy them!

And then after all that time spent looking online I’ll usually order about 4 dresses, send them all back to then realise the first thing I saw was what I was actually going to wear..

Because I recently went to a wedding, last weekend to be exact, I have been on the hunt for outfits which are comfortable in this Summer heat, whilst being pretty and a little different to what you usually see at weddings.

If you’re looking for some initial inspiration for yourself, below is my Pinterest board of wedding guest looks, and here’s the link to my previous post about fashion statements.

You can get all of these outfits from ASOS! (not sponsored, I just love them!)

Here’s a few outfits I think would look great for a more casual wedding:

I love these because when I think of more casual Summer weddings I think about florals and bright colours, along with flowy soft fabrics that’ll keep you cool.

Here’s a few pieces that I think would look amazing for a smarter wedding:

I love the idea of wearing a colourful suit to a wedding, and just in general life to be honest because they can make you feel powerful, confident and sexy. Also clothing with lace, beading, embroidery and other details are good for any wedding or smart occasion in my books!

And if you’re really struggling to find something for a wedding, florals are always a safe option:

I’ve noticed that by searching through hundreds of wedding guest outfit pages online that a lot of them are in pastel colours! Now I love pastel colours, and I agree that they look good for weddings, but why aren’t more bright colours recommended online in these pages? Bright colours look good at weddings too and they won’t distract from the bride because they’ll be in a gorgeous wedding dress or suit or whatever!

At the end of the day, wear what you’re comfortable in, whether it’s a dress, jumpsuit or trousers and a blazer, after all you’ll have more fun if you aren’t worrying about how you look!

Hope this gives you some ideas if you’re off to a wedding anytime soon! Love,

What It’s Like Being Super Pale In Summer

What It’s Like Being Super Pale In Summer

This is going to be a bit bizarre of a post for some of you, but if you’re super pale like me, or a Winter person.. then you’re going to understand where I’m coming from with this.

To start, you may or may not notice the fact that the UK at the moment is in the midst of the longest heatwave EVER. Which for the majority of people is amazing, but for me, not so much. I’m a self-proclaimed Winter lover. Not because I hate the sunshine, BBQs, Summer fun or anything like that (I love that stuff), but because I love bundling up in layers, wearing my Autumn/Winter boots, the gorgeous food and hot drinks that come with Winter, everything it so prettily decorated and of course, I can’t leave Christmas out of that list. Oh I forgot Christmas movies.. nevermind, the list could go on forever.

What can I say, I’m a bit of a romantic when it comes to Winter! Why I prefer the colder seasons is not only because of the above list, but also because of one other thing. I’m as pale as a sheet of paper. No, I’m being serious. I basically reflect sunlight.

Don’t believe me? Here’s Exhibit A:Pale skin legs

And being this pale in Summer results in being told the same thing over and over again. The most infamous of these sayings being:

·         “Get out in the sun!!”

·         “OMG you’re SOOOO pale”

·         “Why don’t you just sit out in it and get a tan”

·         “She must be a vampire”

·         “Have you thought about a spray tan?”

·         “Just sit in the sun for 5 minutes, it won’t kill you”

(If you’re as pale as me then you may have heard a lot of these.)

And, guess what? I’m happy with my skin tone, I don’t tan anyway, I only burn and somehow end up paler than before. It’s taken a long time for me to realise that I don’t need to change it because everyone thinks I should be more tanned. Or that tanned skin is the typical skin tone showed in pretty much every women’s magazine, especially when advertising ‘bikini bodies’. Brief side note – more skin tones need to be shown in advertising and magazines etc. because all skin tones are beautiful and no one should feel like their skin is not as good as someone else’s (I could also say the same about body types..). But I won’t go on about that right now (not in this post anyway).

One thing I’m constantly struck with in Summer is trying to find clothes that I’m comfortable in, I’m a bit of a disaster in the heat, I just can’t function. I hate feeling clammy and sweaty, as does everyone, and I’m constantly in fear of my legs sticking to chairs and having it feel like my skin has been waxed off every time I stand up. And I won’t even go on about sweat patches.

Another thing us pale skinned people have to deal with is the constant going bright red when you’ve literally only walked up a flight of stairs; I look as if I’ve ran a bloody marathon, and people always think I’m really unfit or worn out when in reality I’m totally fine. Or you get this whilst you’re out and about and aren’t sure if your face is sunburnt or if your skin has decided it wants to emulate a tomato.

Which brings me on to the biggest reason I for why I prefer Winter to Summer, sunburn. I can’t actually remember a Summer where I haven’t been severely sunburnt and got sun stroke whilst wear factor 50+ sun cream. And I know what you’re going to say, “you got to re-apply!!”; trust me I know. I practically bathe in the stuff at least every 30 minutes, sit in the shade and still burn.

A lot of people tell me that I’ll tan as I get older, whether or not I will, we’ll just have to wait and see. Being super pale is one of those things that I hated when I was younger, I tried multiple fake tans, including one at the start of May this year only to result in looking like a tangerine and feeling dirty because I’m not used to seeing anything other than white on me. For people using fake tan I applaud you because it always looks natural on you, and I don’t know how you do it! Fake tan + me just doesn’t end well. Nowadays I’ve come to realise that my skin is one of the things that makes me, me. And although every now and again I still long for a darker skin tone, I just don’t think it’ll suit me and if I were to decide I wanted to be more tanned, I’d be too scared to go and get a spray tan for the fear I’ll look like Ross from that episode on Friends..

Whether or not you’re a fellow pale skinned person or someone of any skin tone, what I would love for you to take away from this is that no matter what someone says about your skin tone, it’s beautiful and you shouldn’t feel like it needs to change to fit in with other people’s ideals.

That’s if from my today, I hope you’re enjoying your Summer and staying safe in this heatwave!

As for me, I’m just going to go back to sitting in front of my fan where I can shop for all the new Autumn/Winter collections!

Have fun in the sun, or shade.. everyone!! Love,

Summer Staples

Summer Staples

Hello everyone! Hope you’re outside enjoying the sunshine, after all, summer is finally here!!

So.. today I’ll be taking you through my style staples for this summer! A lot has changed for me since last summer, so my fashion has changed a lot too! And on that note, let’s dive in!

  1. Stripes.

Stripes were a staple for me during spring and now again for summer! The only difference between my stripes in summer is that we’re all about bright, bold colours that pop! You can find these at Newlook!

2. Crop tops.

I’ve always been self conscious about my stomach, and I never thought I would be confident enough to wear them! Oh how times are changing!! I love crop tops paired with high-waisted jeans, high-wasted shorts and midi skirts. I think anyone and everyone can rock the crop top trend regardless of size or shape, if you feel beautiful, everyone will see that! (partly because you are.. duh!) You can find these at Pretty Little Thing!

3. Sunglasses.

This one’s a no brainer, it’s summer, you’re gonna need some shades! I love how putting on a pair of sunglasses makes me feel, like a boss ass bitch. Put those sunnies on and enjoy the sun! You can find these at H&M!

4. Maxi dresses.

These are something that I struggle to find for myself because I’m only 5ft 2 inches tall! Which means it’s a mission to find a maxi dress that doesn’t drag along the floor! So here’s some dresses for ladies of all heights, shapes and sizes! Find these at Boohoo!

5. T-shirt dresses.

I love love love t-shirt dresses, they’re so comfy and can be dressed up and down! I like wearing these with tights on cold evenings if I’m off out with long necklaces and heeled ankle boots. These dresses are all from ASOS and most of them are available in all body types/sizes!

6. Denim Jackets.

I’ve always struggled with this trend as I’ve never really known how to wear denim jackets; but recently I’ve found that I love wearing my denim jacket with t-shirt dresses during the day or with jeans in a different tone with a cute top! These are all from Topshop and they have so many more styles online in loads of colours!

7. White trousers/jeans.

This one can be a scary one for some people to wear, for example; me. I’m always terrified I’m going to spill something on them or sit in something! But I’ve sort of come to terms with that fear and now I love wearing them on a bright sunny day! Pairing these with a bright or cropped top is always a winner! Go to RiverIsland to check out some more of these!

8. Bright Bags.

Bright bold bags are super cute for summer, whether it’s a big shoulder bag, crossbody or clutch, these will make any outfit fun and ready for summer. Above are some that I love! Who would’ve thought that Next would have such cute bags!!

9. High-waist trousers.

These look great nearly all year round, but for summer, tie waist trousers have been one of my go-tos. They look great paired with a cami top tucked in, some cute heels and a blazer! Perfect for a night out or wear them more casual with sandals instead of heels. Find these at Newlook!

10. Shorts.

Shorts are always a summer staple, regardless of the year. When it’s really hot you don’t want to be walking around with loads of fabrics on! So, that’s why shorts are perfect because if it is a little warm with a breeze, I love wearing shorts with a slightly oversized light jumper and cute trainers. It can take a while to find the right pair of shorts for you, but it will be worth the wait! You can get these from ASOS!

So that’s my summer staples for this year. Hope you enjoyed checking them out and maybe you found something on here that you’re going to add to your own summer staples! If you’re not sure about wearing something new, I’d totally recommend trying it out at least for a day, but more often than not, you’ll find that you look amazing!

What are your summer staples? Let me know in the comments so I can try them out!!

Have a great bank holiday everyone!! Love,
