Outfits For All Seasons

Outfits For All Seasons

Good morning my lovelies! How’s March been treating you so far? The weather here is doing all sorts at the moment so no one knows what to wear! Which led me to todays post, my style must-haves. We all have our favourite pieces in our wardrobes that stay in our rotations all year round, so I thought I’d show you some outfits that work with some of my staples, for all seasons!

Let’s get into it!

Comfy Mom Jeans

1 . Black Jumper and Mom Jeans combo. This is my favourite outfit of the bunch. I got myself some mom jeans in the past few months and they’ve been a staple for me ever since, especially paired with a baggy jumper. It’s a chic and comfy outfit that is great for the office if you’re allowed to wear ripped jeans!
Tailored Shorts Outfit

2 . Tailored Shorts with a Simple Tee. It’s great for all seasons when paired with tights and a jacket for Winter or by itself for Summer! These can also be dressed up or down, al you have to do is add some heels or cute flats and you’re ready to go out in the evening.

Little Black Dress
3 . We all know this one, the staple Little Black Dress. This is another one which can be dressed up or down, and can be put with any accessories and look great. Put this dress with simple accessories and a glowy dewy makeup look and you’re good to go for a night out! Or do the opposite and add bright makeup and you’re also ready to hit the town!

Mom Jeans outfit

4 . The Graphic Tee with a Blazer. You can’t really go wrong with this one to be honest, whether it’s jeans, trousers, a skirt or shorts, this always looks great for any occasion and can be great in every season. I love this look as it’s fun and comfy whilst still being chic and elegant!

Little Red Dress

5 . The Little Red Dress. It’s a great version of the LBD but with that extra umph. Dress this with boots and tights in Winter or by itself with sandals and you’re good for Spring! I love how classy and just generally very pretty this one is!!

Spring Skirt Outfit

6 . The Denim Skirt. I think everyone has owned a denim skirt at some point in their life, and I think they’re a staple for any season, like some of the other outfits, the right pair of tights and jacket can transform this from a Spring/Summer look to Autumn/Winter look in a matter of seconds. I personally love this look, especially with a bright belt and bag!

So those are just a few outfits that you can make out of some style staples you may have in your wardrobe; don’t you just love how one classic item can be transformed with a few accessories?!

What do you like to wear with some of your favourite items?? Let me know in the comments! I always love hearing how you like to style pieces, and I love trying them out for myself! Comfy clothes are the best in my opinion, so anytime I can wear them and look chic is a bonus.

Have a great weekend lovelies!

Autumn Staples

Autumn Staples

Autumn is finally upon us! Which means colder weather, warm hearty food and Halloween. Autumn and Winter are quite possibly my favourite times of year. Actually, they definitely are. I love everything about the colder seasons; I prefer cold weather as some of you may already know (see my post about being pale in summer for reasons why!), the food, Christmas and of course the clothes.

Which brings me to this post, my Autumn Staples! (You can find all of these items at NewLook!)

First staple for the season: Tartan!

I love tartan clothes and Autumn is the best time for them. They always remind of Clueless and their outfits are so chic!

Second staple: Corduroy.

So, corduroy, it’s the fabric we all wore in the 90’s it feels like and it’s made a come back! Particularly in skirts, which is actually great because it’s quite a warm fabric and looks great paired with thick or patterned tights!

On to staple three: Burgundy, Mustard and Plum.

These are colours that come back in fashion near enough every Autumn and winter, they’re just great colours for the season.

Number four is another lot of colours: Pastels.

Pastel colours typically remind me of Winter and Spring, but I think they can look great when paired with some of the warmer, darker colours they can look great for Autumn too.

My fifth Autumn staple is: Bold patterns.

Bold patterns tend to look good throughout the year, but they seem to be making a bigger impact than usual this season! Especially check patterns!

Autumn staple six is: All black everything with bright/bold accessories.

I love how much of a statement this is. All of the focus goes on your accessories which makes picking them out in the morning a lot of fun. My personal favourite combo at the moment for this style is a baggy roll neck jumper, high waisted skinny jeans, bright red boots, bright blue bag and a bright yellow necklace. This sort of outfit goes really well with any stand out shoes and accessories to be honest, the bolder the better!

My final Autumn staple is: Comfy Jumpers.

I won’t lie, if I could get away with wearing a comfy oversized jumper, scarf, leggings, chunky socks and boots everyday, I definitely would. I love that aesthetic over all others. Pretty much because I think it can look super cute and I’m a sucker for comfort.

So that’s my Autumn staples! What are you wearing this season? Let me know in the comments or tag me in your instas @theweightofmyworlds so I can see your lovely faces and clothes! Have a great weekend everyone! Love,

Packing For A Weekend Away

Packing For A Weekend Away

Who doesn’t love a trip away for a long weekend! Especially over the Summer holidays! Well next week I’m off to some gorgeous lodges in a forest for 4 days and I can’t wait. If you are going away anytime soon, and if you love being organised like me, I bet you’re already thinking about what to pack and what cute outfits you want to wear whilst you’re there. Which means I’ve already started writing my packing list for it.

I love writing lists about what I should pack and what I need to bring with me; I practically live my life by writing lists for everything. One list first thing in my bullet journal about what I need to do for the day, another list when I get to work for what I need to get done whilst I’m there, and then another list for what I need to get done by the weekend and then lists for when I’m off away anywhere.

Also, I need lists to function, I’ll forget way too much if I haven’t made a list. Oh and I’m naturally an over packer, I always have been, probably always will be. Which means: no list = everything I own will be coming with me on holiday. And I’ll forget the essential things.. like underwear. (It’s happened before.. haha)

Since weekends away in England have unpredictable weather, it can be difficult to know what to wear, so that’s why I’m going to make a list of all the essentials I’ll be taking with me!

Here’s the outfits I’ll be taking inspiration from!

I love cozy jumpers, leggings, jeans and scarves! Because I’m so indecisive and will want to pack my entire wardrobe, and partly because I love having options when I’m getting dressed in the morning, here’s what I’ll be packing for 4 days away:

Long weekend packing list
The dungarees, both dresses, stone biker jacket, grey shirt and the scarf are all from New Look! The shoes, accessories, black jumper, waterfall coat, striped long sleeve top, white t-shirt, collared jumper and the two pairs of jeans are all from Primark!

Here’s the basic list of items I usually bring with me whenever I’m off for a weekend away, or any holiday! You can download it here and use it to help you remember everything you need!

Long weekend packing list

What do you like packing for when you go away? What’s that one thing you can’t leave without? For me, it’s my medication for a start, and then my hair straighteners! One thing I love about planning what I’m bringing away with me is all of the cute outfits I’ll be able to come up with! Also, by planning what I’m packing, I’ll be able to actually be a bit more decisive about what I’m bringing with me.

Here’s just a few of the outfits I can make with what I plan on packing:

So that’s what I’m going to be bringing with me on my little mini break! Hope this helps any of you who love to over-pack like me! And let me know if you buy any of these pieces from Primark and New Look; if you see anything whilst you’re out and about that is super cute for English weekends away, feel free to send a link or two my way!!

Have a great bank holiday my lovelies!! Love,

Wedding Guest Outfits 2018

Wedding Guest Outfits 2018

I love weddings, partly because I’m a romantic and I love love. However, I don’t know about you, but when that invitation arrives in the post (after the initial yay someone’s getting married and has found the love of their life) one of the thoughts that come in my head is “What am I going to wear?!”. Do you get this too? I hope I’m not the only one.

As someone who pretty much lives in jeans and t-shirts, the lead up to the wedding usually involves about 1 million hours spent on Pinterest looking for outfit inspiration and another million spent looking online for that special something to wear. That’s why I’ve decided to list a few different looks for you below along with links to where you can buy them!

And then after all that time spent looking online I’ll usually order about 4 dresses, send them all back to then realise the first thing I saw was what I was actually going to wear..

Because I recently went to a wedding, last weekend to be exact, I have been on the hunt for outfits which are comfortable in this Summer heat, whilst being pretty and a little different to what you usually see at weddings.

If you’re looking for some initial inspiration for yourself, below is my Pinterest board of wedding guest looks, and here’s the link to my previous post about fashion statements.

You can get all of these outfits from ASOS! (not sponsored, I just love them!)

Here’s a few outfits I think would look great for a more casual wedding:

I love these because when I think of more casual Summer weddings I think about florals and bright colours, along with flowy soft fabrics that’ll keep you cool.

Here’s a few pieces that I think would look amazing for a smarter wedding:

I love the idea of wearing a colourful suit to a wedding, and just in general life to be honest because they can make you feel powerful, confident and sexy. Also clothing with lace, beading, embroidery and other details are good for any wedding or smart occasion in my books!

And if you’re really struggling to find something for a wedding, florals are always a safe option:

I’ve noticed that by searching through hundreds of wedding guest outfit pages online that a lot of them are in pastel colours! Now I love pastel colours, and I agree that they look good for weddings, but why aren’t more bright colours recommended online in these pages? Bright colours look good at weddings too and they won’t distract from the bride because they’ll be in a gorgeous wedding dress or suit or whatever!

At the end of the day, wear what you’re comfortable in, whether it’s a dress, jumpsuit or trousers and a blazer, after all you’ll have more fun if you aren’t worrying about how you look!

Hope this gives you some ideas if you’re off to a wedding anytime soon! Love,
