Halloween Movies and TV Series Watchlist.

Halloween Movies and TV Series Watchlist.

Hello my lovelies! We’re in October, and that means we’ve got 3 weeks until Halloween! So this week I’ve decided to give you a list of halloween, spooky season movies and tv series that are perfect for watching in the lead up to Halloween. Plus, I’m making this list especially for the scaredy cats like me, so you won’t find any horror movies here!

So, grab yourself some snacks, your favourite cosy blanket and your pj’s, and let’s get into it!

1 . Halloweentown – I watched this for the first time the other day and it is great! It’s a easy feel good halloween movie.

2 . Hocus Pocus – I love this movie. It’s perfect for watching with the entire family and I can’t help but smile when I watch it!

3 . Beetlejuice – A little spookier but with a great dance number that I think we will all be singing for days to come!

4 . Shaun of the Dead – Not one for the little kids, but an absolute classic. And a forever favourite with my family.

5 . Casper – You can’t really go wrong with a friendly ghost!

6 . Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit – Perfect for the little kids, my niece and nephew love this one.

7 . Corpse Bride – Tim Burton doing what Tim Burton does best!

8 . The Nightmare Before Christmas – An all time favourite that can be rewatched over and over again and still not be bored with it. It’s the perfect bridge between halloween and christmas!

9 . Coraline – Freaky alternate universe with buttons for eyes.. spooky no?

10 . Ghostbusters – Whether you like the originals or the new version, ghostbusters is a must for halloween!

11 . Coco – Cute, good music and an easy watch; just don’t forget some tissues!

12 . Monster Inc – An oldie but a goodie. This one’s great to watch with the kids, I can’t believe some kids nowadays haven’t seen monsters inc before, I even had the game!

13 . The Craft – You must’ve seen this challenge going around on tiktok at the moment where you lift your friends up with your fingertips, well if you have, now you know where it’s from!

14 . The Addams Family – Funny, and an absolute classic. Tell me you’re not singing the song in your head right now?!

15 . The House with a Clock in its Walls – A recent addition, and who doesn’t love a movie with Jack Black?

16 . Goosebumps – This movie is great for when you’re not a massive fan of scary films but don’t mind being spooked a little.

17 . Buffy the Vampire Slayer – I started watching Buffy last week and now I’m into season 3 (all of it is on Amazon prime at the moment!), it’s super addictive with vampires, demons and high school drama!

18 . The Witches – Maybe skip this one if you’re freaked out by old school special effects, this one I have a love hate relationship with. It’s a classic, but the special effects creep me out a lot, but not so much I won’t watch it!

19 . Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – I remember watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch when I was little, so was so excited when Netflix brought out the chilling adventures of Sabrina a few years ago; and I was not disappointed!

20 . Stranger Things – I love stranger things, it’s just an amazing series and once you start watching it I guarantee you won’t stop! And even if you have seen it before, rewatching it never gets old!

21 . Dark Crystal – I have the movie (from what feels like a lifetime ago) on dvd, and Netflix has filmed a series of it! If you know the movie, give the series a go for some nostalgia!

22 . Edward Scissorhands – Johnny Depp with a million pairs of scissors for hands, who would’ve thought he’d make such a good barber?!

23 . E.T. – This film is perfect for halloween and christmas. I guarantee you’ll be able to find the on the telly on repeat over the next few months, and I’m not surprised because who doesn’t love e.t. and wish they had their own friend from another planet?

24 . The Goonies – An oldie but an a oh so goodie. This one is a must for any halloween movie marathon.

This list is by no means in order from best to least best, because what I put on the telly definitely depends on what sort of spook I’m in the mood for! But those are just a few of my favourite Halloweeny movies and tv shows that I think are perfect for watching around this time of year!

So, what are your favourite shows and movies to watch around this time of year? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great weekend my loves, and I hope you’re enjoying this spooky season!

Easy DIY Snowmen.

Easy DIY Snowmen.

Hello my lovelies!! It’s less than two weeks until Santa Claus comes! Woohoo! Who’s excited for Christmas? I know I certainly am! I love the food, being around family and friends and of course the decorations. Which brings me to today’s post, easy DIY snowmen decorations!

I’ve made for several years now as decorations for the festive season and as gifts for the people I care about. These can be used as door stoppers or just as a festive ornament for the wintery season!

Oh, and did I mention how cute they are? Here’s the cuteness we’re dealing with:

See what I mean? A D O R A B L E .

So, onto what you need to make them:

  • White socks (Mens sport socks are great – mine are Tescos basics)
  • Embroidery or thick thread
  • Fabric or socks that you don’t mind cutting up to make a hat and scarf!
  • Buttons
  • Rice or lentils
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun (not necessary but faster then sewing by hand!)
  • Any other decorations!

Now that you know what you need, let’s get into the steps to make one!

Step 1 . Fill one of your white socks with rice or lentils. (I did two cereal bowl fulls).

Step 2 . Double up your sock with another and tie the top to keep the rice in. Then cut the excess sock off the top.

Step 3 . Grab some white thread and double it over, and tie it around your snowman’s body to create its neck and tie it off.

Step 5 . Next up is eyes! Grab black thread (or whatever colour you want!) and sew on some eyes, and if you want you can even add buttons or beads for the eyes!

Step 6 . Time to add a nose! Pick an orange bead or thread and sew on the nose.

Step 7 . Guess what? There’s only 3 steps left! Pick a sock that you want for the snowman’s hat, put it on the snowman’s head and decide how tall you want the hat to be and cut off the excess.

Step 8 . Time to sew up the top of the hat! Sew it together however you like and you can add any accessories to it if you want, I’ve added a pom pom to this one!

Step 9 . We’re on the final step! Time to make the scarf. Cut a sock (or whatever fabric you want to use) into a long strip and glue the edges down facing the middle with a hot glue. Next fold the strip in two (horizontally) and wrap them round your snowman. Depending on the scarves length you can either tie it or glue it down.

Step 10 Snowmen

Step 10 . Viola! You have a snowman! Repeat these steps and you’ll have yourselves a family of snowmen in no time!

Here’s all of the snowmen I’ve made over the years for decorations and a few I’ve made recently as gifts!

And those are my snowmen! Featuring a Snowlamb because why not!? What’s your favourite snowman of the bunch? Let me know in the comments! Have you made any Christmas DIY’s? What’s your favourite decoration/gift to make?

And with that, I hope you’re all having a very happy Christmas so far and I’ll see you next week!

Cheap Christmas Pyjamas

Cheap Christmas Pyjamas

So, it’s November. None of of can believe it’s already November and Christmas will be here before we know it! And I think it’s pretty reasonable to start wearing Christmas pyjamas now we’re in November, and next week I think it’ll be acceptable to start wearing Christmas jumpers; I know I’ll start wearing mine then. So, I’ve put together some great sets and a dress that look cosy and cute!

These pyjamas are great as a Christmas present for someone special or as a present for yourself! All of these one and two pieces are less than £20 total as no one wants to spend more than that on something they’re going to sleep in. Or live in everyday as soon as you get in from work/not leaving the house, up to you.

Let’s get into it. (All images are credited to and are from the stated shops!)

Primark Pyjamas

1 . This cute polar bear pyjama set from Primark! You can find the set here! It’s an adorable set for anyone that doesn’t want something that screams ‘IT’S CHRISTMAS!!’ right in your face. And nice and cheap for £10!

2 . I found a few sets from Primark that were a great price for some cute pyjamas! (You can find them here.) These naughty and nice sets go for just £6 each; absolute bargain! And perfect for if you want to match with a bestie!

3 . Here’s the last set I found from Primark and I think it’s my favourite. Anyone that knows me knows that one of my favourite Christmas movies is ‘the Grinch who stole Christmas’ so when I saw these I was a very happy lady! The jumper is £10, the top is £6 and the leggings are £8! I love that with these you can pick which type of pyjama top or bottoms you want because not everyone will want a long sleeve jumper or shorts to sleep in!

4 . For those who love the film ‘Elf’, this one’s for you! You can get this set from NewLook for £19.99 and would make a great Christmas present. But if you’re like me and can’t wait for this time of year, then you can always buy it for yourself! They also do it for men too! You can get the set for men by NewLook here from ASOS.

ASOS Pyjama Set

5 . I love this set from ASOS, it looks so pretty and comfy! Find it here for exactly £20. And one of the things I love about ASOS is their free returns policy and their sizing helper so you’re able to actually find the right size and fit you want!

H and M pyjama short set

6 . This set is from H&M and is not in your face Christmassy but I think it looks comfy and is great if you’re not into long pyjamas. And this set is only £9.99, find it here!

Pug ASOS night dress

7 . For those of you that don’t like pants/pyjama bottoms, here’s a cute night dress with Christmas pugs all over it! I think this will be perfect for after Christmas dinner when all clothes are too tight! Find it from ASOS here!

So there’s a few cheap pyjama sets and a dress that will be perfect as a gift or as a present for yourself! I’ll certainly be buying myself some of these, I live in pyjamas haha. Have a great weekend lovelies!! Let me know if you buy any of these and what you think!

Autumn Staples

Autumn Staples

Autumn is finally upon us! Which means colder weather, warm hearty food and Halloween. Autumn and Winter are quite possibly my favourite times of year. Actually, they definitely are. I love everything about the colder seasons; I prefer cold weather as some of you may already know (see my post about being pale in summer for reasons why!), the food, Christmas and of course the clothes.

Which brings me to this post, my Autumn Staples! (You can find all of these items at NewLook!)

First staple for the season: Tartan!

I love tartan clothes and Autumn is the best time for them. They always remind of Clueless and their outfits are so chic!

Second staple: Corduroy.

So, corduroy, it’s the fabric we all wore in the 90’s it feels like and it’s made a come back! Particularly in skirts, which is actually great because it’s quite a warm fabric and looks great paired with thick or patterned tights!

On to staple three: Burgundy, Mustard and Plum.

These are colours that come back in fashion near enough every Autumn and winter, they’re just great colours for the season.

Number four is another lot of colours: Pastels.

Pastel colours typically remind me of Winter and Spring, but I think they can look great when paired with some of the warmer, darker colours they can look great for Autumn too.

My fifth Autumn staple is: Bold patterns.

Bold patterns tend to look good throughout the year, but they seem to be making a bigger impact than usual this season! Especially check patterns!

Autumn staple six is: All black everything with bright/bold accessories.

I love how much of a statement this is. All of the focus goes on your accessories which makes picking them out in the morning a lot of fun. My personal favourite combo at the moment for this style is a baggy roll neck jumper, high waisted skinny jeans, bright red boots, bright blue bag and a bright yellow necklace. This sort of outfit goes really well with any stand out shoes and accessories to be honest, the bolder the better!

My final Autumn staple is: Comfy Jumpers.

I won’t lie, if I could get away with wearing a comfy oversized jumper, scarf, leggings, chunky socks and boots everyday, I definitely would. I love that aesthetic over all others. Pretty much because I think it can look super cute and I’m a sucker for comfort.

So that’s my Autumn staples! What are you wearing this season? Let me know in the comments or tag me in your instas @theweightofmyworlds so I can see your lovely faces and clothes! Have a great weekend everyone! Love,

My Spring Staples

My Spring Staples

Spring is finally upon us!! Hurrah!!! It’s always this time of year where I want to clear out my room and my wardrobe. I just want to throw everything away and start from fresh.. But that would cost way too much money so instead I just sorted though all my clothes. And I’ve decided to try going minimalist as I’ve always loved how clear and simple everything looks (becoming minimalist blog post to follow!).

So what are my go-tos for Spring? Well, I don’t consider myself very fashionable, but here’s what I’m loving for Spring this year!

Stripes

  • Stripes. They never go out of style in my eyes, every year I see beautifully dressed people walking the streets and there’s always a few wearing stripes, whether its tops, jumpers, dresses, trousers or even shoes, they always look so chic and pretty.

Shirts

  • Shirts. These can be a bit tricky for me since I’m a busty girl, but I found a few lovely ones from ASOS and even Tesco F&F which fit don’t make me feel like I’m going to burst out of them haha.

Ankle Grazers

  • Rolled up Jeans or Ankle Grazers. Me being a short girl (5ft 2.5inches and proud!) finding jeans that fit me properly can be a nightmare!! But River Island do some brill jeans that I adore at the moment as well as New Look. I am pretty used to rolling up the bottom of my jeans due to them being too long so it’s just natural for them to be one of my Spring Staples.

Tube Skirts

  • Tube Skirts. These are something I never would had dreamed of wearing due to my body image issues, but with the past few weeks I’ve been forcing myself to come out of my comfort zone more with my fashion choices and I think I’m starting to like how I look in them, lumps and bumps and all!!

Trench Coats

  • Trench Coats. I like these for most of the year, or just when it’s too warm for a coat but too cold for going without. I just feel stylish when I wear these to be honest! And pair this with a high-waisted tube skirt, knotted t-shirt and some pumps and you’ve got yourself a cute, chic outfit anyone can rock

Florals

  • Finally, florals. These are always in and out of fashion, but I love seeing people wearing bright bold floral patterns, especially this time of the year. It just brightens up your day, especially if you live in England like me (one minute its sunny, the next it’s showers!), it certainly changes dull rainy days!

Do you have any Spring Staples? If so, let me know what they are below!! Maybe you can help me be more stylish haha 😉 Have a great week ahead everyone!!
